The new MacBook Air models will not have hard drives, but flash storage instead. Both models have Core 2 Duo processors, 2 GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics cards. The new MacBook Air models have unibody chassis like the latest MacBook Pro models, full keyboards, stereo speakers, FaceTime cameras and glass multi-touch trackpads. Both models can have their RAM upgraded to 4GB.

Battery life is claimed to be 7 hours for wireless web browsing on the 13.3-inch model and 5 hours on the 11.6-inch model, with a standby time of 30 days for both.

Both new MacBook Air models have high-resolution LED-backlit displays, with the 13.3 inch-model offering 1440 x 900 pixels and the 11.6-inch model carrying 1366 x 768 pixels.

Pricing begins at $999 for the 11.6-inch MacBook Air with 64 GB of storage and goes up to $1,599 for the 13.3-inch model with 256 GB of storage. Both MacBook Air models are available starting today.

10 days till Mac Pro debut? And Apple TV and of course, the iPhone

WWDC is only 10 days away, and I’m hearing that not only will Apple debut the new iPhone, but a new Apple TV which will run on the iPhone hardware and have a cloud based streaming of 1080p content.

The Apple TV set top box reportedly based on iPhone OS 4, powered by Apple’s custom-built A4 processor, and offering 1080P cloud-based streaming content — all starting at just $99.

But I’m most excited about the announcement of a new Mac Pro which I hope to be getting asap.  The MacBook Air will also get an update.

QuickerTek intros MacBook Air external battery

External Battery for MacBook Air for those that can afford it. This battery will run you $350. Customers must also have a QuickerTek-modified MagSafe adapter, which carries a price of $100. An existing MagSafe adapter can be converted for $25.

QuickerTek’s MacBook Air External Battery powers and charges the internal battery while you use the computer. You get 12 to 16 total hours of battery life - that’s 6 to 10 extra hours of battery power.

You know the QuickerTek External Battery is working because the battery charge percentage in the menu bar stays at 100% for hours, before the power of internal battery is touched.

While the stock Apple MacBook Air recharges in four hours using the AC wall adapter, the QuickerTek External Battery Charger recharges in only three hours.

It’s styled to blend in perfectly with all of your other cool Apple equipment. The MacBook Air External Battery Charger is lightweight, good looking and seriously powerful.
