Don't engrave your iOS device - It will cost you

Here’s the hint of the day. Do not get your iPods or iPads personally engraved, the value of the engraved iOS device will be greatly diminished.  If people are scouring equipment on Ebay or Amazon, they are sure to bid or pay higher prices for pristine backs.

Do you want to give a loved one a device that has someone else’s name on it?  Didn’t think so.  An engraved iPad will generally sell for up to 30% less.  Also, get some kind of case for protection.  Excessive scratching or dents can reduce the price by approximately 20% as well.

I have always gotten top dollar for my used Apple equipment, and would never want to have it engraved just for that reason.

Any device that is engrave will sure affect the value especially if you have plans of reselling it. I think it would be better to personal the iPhone case rather than engrave the name on the device.
